Blantyre Institute of Neurological Sciences BINS

What we do

The Blantyre Institute of Neurological Sciences (BINS) is a newly formed institution at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) with the aim of promoting the study of neurosciences and the practicing of the neurological sciences in Malawi.

We operate from QECH where we have a specialized operating theatre and a neruo high dependency unit. We conduct operations from Monday to Thursday and conduct an outpatient clinic on Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm

Our mission

We aim to provide compassionate and skilled patient-centered care to persons with neurological disorders, their families and caretakers in Malawi and the surrounding region.

To shed light on neurological disorders, diseases and develop treatments through basic and clinical research.

To teach the art and science of neurological care to the next generation of neurosurgeons, nuero-nurses, nuero-physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals.
